bring the soil level right up to the rims

Then very gently lift the pot out of the center. Leaving a neat hole to drop your plant in. |

Now you have the perfect shape to set your plant in. |
 |
Check the plant over and scrape the neck so it will root in the new soil you can use a rooting hormone dust here, but it isn't absolutely necessary |

Use something to tease the roots out of the root ball letting the plant know that it can grow outwards. |
 |
Now gently lower your plant into the shape (mold) you made for it. |
 |
Then fill to the top with new soil.

Water in and you will have a happy plant for another few months. |
