I love the leafy ones too!

My African Violets grow under lights in the basement but I have foliage plants too! These can be found in the corners of my dining room where there is no direct light at all. They have been knocked to the floor by my "racing poodles"  who like to use them much as a gymkhana horse would a barrel.  Many times one would fall crashing to the floor and break into pieces. The pieces are not wasted, I start them again and make some friend happy with the gift of a living, growing plant. Here are a few of the plants Denis and I share our home with.

Your two unknown houseplants are like ones that I have. The picture you call Unknown looks like my Spathiphyllum patini (calla lily), which is blooming right now! The other one you call Ribbon looks like a Dracaena warnecki corn plant) There are several versions of this plant, but I like the warnecki variety because of the striped foliage!

Hello,

I've been reading everything one your violets page, thank you very much.  It's the best I've see, so good work.

I also popped over to your "I love leafy ones too" page and see that you have a couple NOIDs, lol.  The first (second from the end), with a white and long petioles is called a "Peace Lilly".  The one on the end is a "Golden" type of lucky bamboo, Dracaena sanderiana--not really bamboo.  I'm 110% sure about the peace lilly and 80% sure about the dracaena.

Thank again for a great site!

Thank you Michael .... I am so glad you enjoyed my site.

Poodles, plants, peace and quiet!  I am in Heaven already!

I have had a few plants that had to be disposed of because they had grown too large to manage at home.   I purchased a small yucca two years ago along with a few other plants to make the garden pictured above after being forced to sell the one
I had for almost 10 years. It had grown to the ceiling.  It is hard to believe I brought it home on the back seat of my small car!

in it's new home by the goldfish pond in Super Pet.
